Asakusa Kannon Temple

Asakusa Kannon Temple, also known as Senso-ji, is one of the oldest and most important Buddhist temples in Japan, located in the Asakusa area of Tokyo. Built in 645, the temple is dedicated to the Bodhisattva Kannon (Avalokiteshvara), known for her compassion. According to legend, in 628, two fishermen discovered a statue of Kannon in the Sumida River.
